WhatsApp for iOS

NEW DELHI: Facebook-owned WhatsApp has started rolling out an update for its iOS app. The update introduces three new features – Album, Filters and Reply shortcut.

First things first, the Album feature will enable the users to organize images in a better way. When users send or receive a collection of five or more photos/ videos, they’ll automatically be grouped together as an album, creating a tile display within the messages. Tapping on an album will allow the users to see the included photos and videos in full-screen.

On the other hand, the Filters functionality will let users add filters to their photos, videos and GIFs, directly from the app’s camera. All they need to do is click a picture (or select one already saved on their smartphone) and swipe up to pick a filter. There are five options to choose from, including Pop, Black and White, Cool, Chrome and Film.

Lastly, Reply shortcut is designed to make it easier for the users to reply to WhatsApp messages. They just need to swipe right on any message and start composing the response.Recently, WhatsApp started rolling out ‘Pinned Chats’ feature for all Android users. As the name suggests, the new chat-pinning functionality is intended to make it easier for users to pin important chats on the top of the conversation list. Once a conversation is pinned, it stays on the top of the list even if new messages are received.Users can pin up to three individual or group chats on the top of the list. They just need to tap and hold on a chat, and then tap the pin icon placed next to the Delete, Mute and Archive options. Once done, the chat will be moved to the top. In case a user wants to unpin the chat, they can do so by long pressing the chat and selecting the unpin option.
